Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IBM Maximo Developer with deep expertise in IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9 and Field Service Management (FSM) / Maximo Mobile to support our electric utility operations.

The ideal candidate is a technical leader with strong architectural judgment, a mobile-first mindset, and the ability to design scalable, resilient solutions that support field operations, inspections, outage response, and compliance-driven workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead MAS 9 architecture and platform strategy, including configuration, governance, environment management (DEV/TEST/PROD), CI/CD, security, RBAC, and performance optimization.
• Design and implement Maximo Mobile / FSM workflows for T& D field operations such as maintenance, inspections, safety tagging, and storm response.
• Build offline-first mobile solutions, optimize sync processes, and configure inspection forms, job plans, and digital procedures to enhance field usability and adoption.
• Develop advanced Maximo customizations, including automation scripts (Jython/JavaScript), complex workflows, UI logic, asset hierarchies, predictive maintenance, and BIRT reporting.
• Lead enterprise integrations using MIF and connect MAS 9 with OMS, GIS, SCADA, and ERP/financial systems while designing API and event-driven patterns.
• Drive data migration and governance efforts, ensuring asset data quality, accuracy, and lifecycle traceability.
• Support key T& D utility processes, including capital project tracking, asset commissioning, NERC compliance documentation, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo development experience
• (additional experience may substitute for degree) .
• 3+ years supporting electric utility Transmission & Distribution operations.
• Demonstrated expertise installing, configuring, upgrading, or supporting MAS 9.
• Strong experience designing and deploying Maximo Mobile / FSM solutions.
• Deep hands-on experience with:
• Application Designer
• Automation Scripts
• Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
• Workflows and Escalations
• Strong SQL and Java development skills.
• Experience leading complex enterprise integrations.
• Experience working in regulated, audit-driven environments.
• Proven ability to translate field operational needs into scalable mobile workflows.
• Strong communication skills across IT, engineering, and field operations.
• Successful track record delivering solutions in mission-critical utility environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience deploying MAS 9 in OpenShift environments.
• Expertise optimizing mobile performance for large distributed field workforces.
• Familiarity with NERC reliability standards.
• Experience integrating Maximo with GIS/OMS/SCADA platforms.
• IBM Maximo certifications.
• Experience coaching or mentoring development teams.
