Job Description
We are seeking a Network / System Engineer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data center physical infrastructure engineering and a proven ability to design, maintain, improve, and expand critical facility systems supporting resilient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, improve, and support data center critical infrastructure for power, cooling, and structured cabling.
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure engineering and design activities, interpret design standards, and identify implementation risks.
- Plan capacity for power, space, and cooling, and perform resiliency, redundancy, and failover analysis.
- Support data center construction, upgrades, commissioning, and site integration activities.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of infrastructure incidents and drive corrective actions.
- Utilize DCIM and monitoring to track engineering metrics and enable data-driven decisions.
- Partner with Real Estate, Critical Systems, Construction, Technology, utilities, vendors, and facility stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
- Support budgets and cost controls for infrastructure projects and operations, including vendor cost management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of data center critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and structured cabling systems.
- Experience with critical electrical systems: utility service, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution.
- Experience with cooling and mechanical systems supporting data centers.
- Demonstrated delivery of solutions meeting availability, redundancy, quality, and budget requirements.
- Ability to lead or significantly contribute to engineering design, technical contract support, and standards interpretation.
- Experience defining, tracking, and using operational and engineering metrics for decision making.
- Proven collaboration within matrixed and cross-functional environments, including global or distributed teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication with ability to present technical and operational information to peers and management.
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years in Data Center, Critical Systems, or related infrastructure engineering disciplines.
- Background in Data Center Engineering, Critical Facilities, Mission Critical Infrastructure, or Colocation/Hyperscale environments.
- Experience with availability modeling, resiliency planning, and risk assessment for data centers.
- Hands-on exposure to commissioning, testing, and validation of mechanical, electrical, fire suppression, and control systems.
- Proficiency with DCIM, telemetry, and environmental monitoring tools.
- Experience coordinating with utilities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction for code and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading teams or workstreams and influencing stakeholders and vendors.
