Devops Engineer

Resource will help us build data integration pipelines as part of the BTIG acquisition, he should be well versed in AWS, devops using Git, Jenkins, Terraform and K8 along with various Amazon services like Ec2, EKS, S3, Redshift, RabbitMQ, RDS, R53. 

Core focus of the role

• Primary driver is the BTIG integration — most of the related processes run in AWS, and the person needs to hit the ground running on deployment and infra creation.
• Hands-on AWS depth matters most in: ECS, RDS, Route 53, EC2, Redshift, and RabbitMQ (messaging).
• CI/CD pipeline work using Git, Jenkins, plus internal tools.
• Terraform is central — candidate must be able to build Terraform modules from scratch, not just extend existing ones. Heavy IaC usage across all their infrastructure.
• Second major focus: observability/monitoring — setting up and configuring Datadog and Grafana.
• Also involved in production support for existing applications — on-call during business hours (after-hours handled by existing on-call rotation/support team, not this new hire).

Explicitly de-prioritized

• Data integration is not a core requirement — nice to have if they've done any (not necessarily merger-related), but not something to screen hard on.

Candidate preferences

• Strong preference for capital markets / high-frequency or high-trading-volume experience — banking/financial-services background where they've navigated tech constraints in that environment.
• Communication matters — will interact directly with business-line users (traders), so needs to be comfortable communicating both technically and in business terms, verbally and in writing.

Top 5-10 responsibilities

• Maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure platform using modern IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practices under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support the development and operation of CI/CD pipelines to enable agile and secure software deployments.
• Building and operating infrastructure utilizing container orchestration such as EKS/K8S.
• Write automation scripts and tooling to reduce toil and improve the reliability of our systems.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Implement and maintain logging solutions to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and analysis.
• Collaborate with software development and systems integration teams to build end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews as you grow into the role.
• Work with security teams to ensure the platform meets industry standards and compliance requirements.

skills are required:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer, system administrator, or software engineer.
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Shell, Go, or Ruby.
• Hands-on exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
•  CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines)
• Strong working experience with AWS and Services
• Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. When a problem occurs, you run towards it not away

nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is a plus.
