Job Title: Software Delivery Manager (IT & Agile Operations)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Software Delivery Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions within a product-led, mission-driven Agile environment. In this role, you will act as a servant leader guiding high-performing software development teams, managing execution plans, milestones, dependencies, and budgets, and ensuring that software outputs align with rigorous engineering standards and business objectives.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a professional who combines a technical software development background with exceptional stakeholder management and Agile coaching expertise. You will bridge technical teams and business stakeholders, drive operational excellence through modern DevOps and monitoring practices, and foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Servant Leadership
Team Leadership & Coaching: Serve as a motivating coach to agile software development teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, high performance, and continuous career development.
Roadmap & Milestone Execution: Partner with stakeholders and development teams to establish clear product delivery roadmaps, managing expectations around schedules, milestones, and release coordination.
Risk & Blockers Management: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, blockers, and resource constraints; limit work-in-progress to maintain steady delivery flow.
Sprint & Release Planning: Oversee sprint execution, sizing, estimation, burn-up tracking against milestones, and coordination of deployments and regression testing.
Stakeholder Alignment & Operations
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with cross-functional partners and executive leadership, setting transparent expectations and driving shared understanding of business objectives.
Production Optimization: Support the optimization of production system operations by leveraging monitoring tools, capacity analyses, and root-cause analyses to ensure system stability, security, and performance.
Budget & Vendor Oversight: Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and third-party vendor relationships to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
Governance & Compliance: Manage internal and external audit reviews, compliance assessments, SOX controls, and governing policies as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience Baseline:
oMinimum of 8+ years of professional experience in software product delivery.
oMinimum of 4+ years of experience in management, leadership, or team supervision.
oMinimum of 2+ years of hands-on software development experience.
Technical & Methodological Mastery:
oStrong, demonstrated understanding of software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) practices and agile delivery frameworks.
oProven capability in delivery planning, release coordination, and milestone tracking.
oWorking knowledge of DevOps practices, operational monitoring, and continuous improvement frameworks.
Core Competencies: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; superior time-management and executive presence; strong stakeholder management and facilitation capabilities.
Preferred Attributes
Proven experience championing an Agile culture and actively coaching teams and stakeholders in practice adoption and maturity.
Prior experience delivering software solutions within regulated industries (e.g., utility, financial, or heavily governed enterprise sectors).
Demonstrated success managing compliance reviews, audits, and governing policies in enterprise IT landscapes.
