Job Title: TypeScript and Node.js Tech lead

Job Location: Mississauga, ON

Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

The TypeScript and Node.js Tech Lead will lead end-to-end software development efforts, overseeing the full development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance.
This role involves mentoring developers, driving technical excellence, and delivering scalable full-stack solutions using modern web and cloud technologies.
The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality, efficient, and maintainable systems.

Requirement/Must Have:

Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js for REST API development.
Experience with React for frontend development.
Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with AWS cloud-native development including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Aurora PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
Mentor and guide a team of developers while ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient full-stack applications using TypeScript, Node.js, frontend frameworks, and AWS serverless technologies.
Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs to support frontend and backend integration.
Develop responsive and user-friendly web applications using Angular or React.
Utilize AWS serverless services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB to build and deploy applications.
Lead the design and optimization of scalable, high-performance data solutions using Aurora PostgreSQL.
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality code delivery.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Identify and resolve technical dependencies and blockers to ensure smooth project execution.

Should Have:

Experience deploying AWS infrastructure using Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
Experience with build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Experience orchestrating AWS Lambda workflows using AWS Step Functions.

Skills:

TypeScript and Node.js.
React and modern frontend development.
RESTful API design and development.
AWS serverless architecture.
Aurora PostgreSQL and data optimization.
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Git and version control.
Leadership, mentoring, and collaboration.
