Description
Key Responsibilities
This position will partner with our client's CIO, AVP, Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations, VP of Clinical Operations, and others to align IT roadmaps across infrastructure, business, clinical, and operational initiatives.
Main responsibility will help build their Governance & Policy Framework
Stand up an IT Governance Committee and associated architecture review processes.
Develop and maintain enterprise-wide IT policies, standards, and procedures, covering integration development, security, access, data management, and system lifecycle.
Define governance cycles (e.g., Architecture Review Board, annual portfolio reviews) and ensure decisions are documented, auditable, and transparent.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to align policies with external standards (SOC, ISO, GDPR, SOX, etc.).
Modernization
Create phased decommissioning plans for "Technical Debt" (outdated servers or siloed databases) that pose a risk to the organization's uptime.
Evaluate and provide technical oversight for major medical device projects such as integrations, patient room platforms, mobile devices
Vendor Management
Collaborate with vendors to facilitate demos, RFIs, and RFPs in partnership with Procurement, business, and IT teams regarding new technology investments.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure alignment of enterprise architecture with organizational strategy and objectives.
Compliance and Risk Management
Monitor and enforce compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and security standards. Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology architecture.
Performance Measurement
Establish metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of enterprise architecture governance and drive continuous improvement.
Documentation and Communication
Develop clear documentation for architecture standards, processes, and decisions. Communicate governance requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Change Management
Guide and support change management efforts related to enterprise architecture, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
Remain informed about regulatory changes and review defined standards for relevancy, effectiveness, and robustness, updating and communicating changes.
Training and Advocacy: Provide training and guidance to IT and business teams on governance principles, promoting a culture of compliance and architectural excellence.
Strategic Alignment & Continuous Improvement
Align enterprise architecture initiatives with client's IT Strategic Goals-operational efficiency, scalability, innovation, and compliance.
Define and track metrics and KPIs to measure architectural maturity, integration efficiency, and governance compliance.
Continuously assess and optimize architecture components through a structured Assess Design Implement Govern Optimize cycle.
Must have
Experience with healthcare organizations such as hospitals, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or innovation-driven organizations.

The Principal Enterprise Architect is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing client's technology governance framework and reports to the AVP, Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations. This role ensures that technology initiatives align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and healthcare best practices. The Principal Enterprise Architect collaborates with stakeholders across business units and Information Services to develop policies, standards, and processes that drive consistency, efficiency, and innovation in the enterprise architecture landscape, as the enterprise transitions from legacy, fragmented systems to a unified, patient-centric digital ecosystem.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $110.00/hr.
