Genesis10 is currently seeking a Kafka Automation Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC or Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role focuses on developing new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka within the organization's internal and external cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Python, and Ansible to create, update, and maintain complex automation programs. This position requires collaboration with business and technology teams to capture requirements, design solutions, and ensure secure, risk-based implementations.
Responsibilities: - Understand and update existing automation programs and develop new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka
- Capture business requirements from LOBs and design solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams
- Work closely with Application Development/Support teams to understand the usage of messaging protocols within application software
- Document business requirements and develop plans to address the problem/requirement
- Develop testing automation and troubleshoot problems during testing
- Analyze IT security standards and policies for multiple projects of high complexity
- Identify potential threats and risks and make recommendations to prevent these issues
Requirements: - 10 years of hands-on experience in software development
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible
- Strong hands-on experience with Develop & Test Automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible
- Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible Playbook, and Ansible Tower
- Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX Shell Scripting
- Basic knowledge of Ping Access and Certificate Management
- Experience with Public and Private Cloud environments
- Hybrid schedule requirement of a minimum of 3 days per week
Desired skills: - Experience managing large-scale deployments for an enterprise
- Advanced Python/Ansible skills
- Experience with monitoring software like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies
- Knowledge of messaging software (MQ/IIB, Kafka, Tibco, etc)
- Experience with Java/J2EE
Pay range: $83.09 - $91.09 per hour
