The Application Deployment & Automation Engineer II is a mid-level technical role responsible for supporting and automating application deployments across non-production and production environments. The position will develop and maintain automation using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), support secure credential integration with CyberArk, assist with .NET application deployment and troubleshooting, automate database script execution, and support release activities using technologies such as Git, NuGet, PowerShell, and CI/CD tools.
Qualified candidates should have 3 5 years of relevant IT, software development, deployment, DevSecOps, or automation experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on Ansible or deployment automation experience. Candidates should have a working knowledge of .NET applications, Git-based source control, database scripting, software packaging, and application deployment processes. Experience with CyberArk, AAP, production deployments, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipelines is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be able to independently develop and modify automation, troubleshoot application and deployment issues, support controlled production releases, and collaborate with development, database, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams within a structured government-contract environment.
Required Experience:
3 5 years of relevant professional experience in application deployment, automation, software development, DevSecOps, release engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Ansible, including developing, modifying, and troubleshooting playbooks, roles, inventories, variables, and automated deployment workflows.
Experience supporting application deployments across development, test, integration, and/or production environments.
1 2+ years of .NET application development, support, or deployment experience, with the ability to understand and troubleshoot application components, services, APIs, configuration, and dependencies.
Experience using Git for source control, branching, merging, tagging, and version management.
Experience with NuGet packages, .NET dependencies, or comparable software package-management processes.
Experience executing, supporting, or automating database scripts and database deployment activities.
Experience with at least one scripting language such as Oracle SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Working knowledge of software deployment, configuration management, release management, and change-control processes.
Ability to troubleshoot deployment failures, application configuration issues, dependency problems, database errors, and environment-related issues.
Ability to work independently on moderately complex technical assignments and collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, database, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document deployment procedures, technical issues, and resolution steps.
Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science in a STEM-related field of study.
