Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to administer and modernize cloud-first data platforms (Azure & Snowflake) with secondary support for on-premises SQL Server.

The ideal candidate will focus on centralized and automated deployments, secure operations (HIPAA/PHI compliance), performance optimization, and reliability improvements through automation.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support Azure & Snowflake data platforms
Support on-prem SQL Server environments
Manage Azure services including:

Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Azure SQL DB / Managed Instance
Azure Cosmos DB
Azure Database for PostgreSQL
MongoDB

Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for:

Databases
ETL/ELT pipelines
Analytics artifacts

Deploy and manage:

SQL code (DDL/DML, stored procedures)
SQL Agent Jobs
SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
BI tools (Tableau, Alteryx)

Develop automation using PowerShell & Python
Perform:

Performance tuning & monitoring
Capacity planning
Cost optimization

Implement:

Backup & restore
High availability & disaster recovery

Manage ADF pipelines & Snowflake data modeling (Coalesce)
Ensure data security, access control, and HIPAA compliance
Lead incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Required Experience

10+ years in database administration
Strong experience with Azure Data Services & Snowflake
Experience supporting on-prem SQL Server
5–6+ years in CI/CD & DevOps for data platforms
Experience with mission-critical systems (performance, DR, monitoring)

Must Have Skills

Cloud Data Platforms (Azure & Snowflake) – Expert
SQL Server (On-Prem) – Strong
CI/CD & Release Engineering – Advanced
Database Performance, Reliability & DR – Advanced
Automation (PowerShell, Python) – Advanced

Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance
