Genesis10 is currently seeking a Platform Engineer for an on-site contract position with a Major Financial Institution located in Itasca, IL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role focuses on providing expertise on platform engineering to design, build, and maintain technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with physical data center operations and will use their technical knowledge to develop secure, scalable, and reliable software components and hardware for complex projects.
Responsibilities: - Provide expertise on platform engineering while overseeing the team's effort and meeting customer needs
- Use technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions
- Develop software components and hardware for complex projects, aligning them with business strategies and objectives
- Provide expertise on best practices, standards, engineering approaches and complex technical resolutions for processes
- Place emphasis on quality improvement efforts, ensuring that deliverables are secure, scalable and reliable
- Communicate with customers and integrate their needs with development to meet business objectives
Requirements: - 6-8 years of experience in a related field
- Direct experience with physical data center operations including rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management
- Solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls
- Knowledge of Machine Learning, Risk Assessments, and Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
- Strong technical knowledge and design skills
Desired skills: - Experience with standard tooling such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems
Pay range: $37.00 - $43.00 per hour
