Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Solution Architect with deep expertise in healthcare interoperability, Epic integration, FHIR standards, and modern software development practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical architecture skills, hands-on programming experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, clinical teams, and technical teams to design and deliver scalable healthcare technology solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect enterprise healthcare solutions that support clinical, operational, and business objectives.
Lead the architecture and integration of healthcare applications, with a strong focus on Epic, FHIR, HL7, and interoperability frameworks.
Develop solution blueprints, technical designs, and integration strategies for healthcare ecosystems.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, clinicians, product teams, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
Design APIs and data exchange solutions leveraging FHIR, RESTful services, SMART on FHIR, and healthcare interoperability standards.
Evaluate existing systems and recommend architecture improvements to enhance performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural governance.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, security standards, and data privacy requirements.
Support cloud modernization initiatives and digital transformation programs within healthcare environments.
Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technical feasibility analyses.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and executive stakeholders on healthcare technology strategies.
 
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of software development and solution architecture experience.
5+ years of healthcare technology experience with healthcare providers, payers, or healthcare IT organizations.
Strong hands-on programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, C#, .NET, Python, or Node.js.
Extensive experience with Epic systems, Epic integrations, and Epic interoperability solutions.
Strong expertise in HL7, FHIR, SMART on FHIR, REST APIs, and healthcare data exchange standards.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale integration architectures.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Strong understanding of microservices, API management, event-driven architecture, and modern application development frameworks.
Experience with databases including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL technologies.
Knowledge of healthcare security, HIPAA compliance, and data governance best practices.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Epic certifications (Bridges, Interconnect, App Orchard, or related modules).
Experience with healthcare interoperability platforms such as Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, or Redox.
Experience implementing SMART on FHIR applications.
Familiarity with AI, analytics, and population health solutions.
TOGAF, Azure Architect, AWS Architect, or related architecture certifications.
