Job Purpose and Impact

The Capital Engineer II will plan, support and execute capital project engineering deliverables for Cargill's Eddyville, Iowa facility. In this role, you will be primarily focused on small to medium sized capital projects from design to startup, while overseeing construction management and documentation. We seek a professional who will actively apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering scope.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of capital project scope, schedule and budget while following project management deliverables and best practices.
  • Coordinate staffing and development of construction, commissioning and start-up plans.
  • Lead equipment specification and procurement and develop, review and award bid packages for equipment and labor.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in chemical or food related industries
