Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a long-term contract position with a Leading Pharmacy Benefit Manager located in Eagan, MN.
Compensation: $79.00 - $82.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview: This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing scalable data integration and transformation solutions within a Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with ETL development, Google Cloud Platform data engineering services, Kafka, and SQL, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced delivery environment to support a critical client implementation initiative.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting enterprise data integration and client implementation initiatives
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and movement processes across multiple applications and platforms
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data engineering solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform technologies (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage)
- Develop and support Kafka-based data integration and streaming solutions
- Partner with business stakeholders, technical leads, and engineering teams to understand data integration requirements
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications and data engineering solutions
- Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, performance issues, and integration challenges
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and reliability throughout integration processes
Primary Requirements: - 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL development, or related data integration disciplines
- Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines
- Demonstrated experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and cloud-native data engineering solutions, specifically BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka, including streaming, messaging, or event-driven data integration
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, data transformations, and performance optimization
- Experience working with complex data flows across multiple enterprise applications
- Ability to independently manage technical assignments and deliver results under compressed timelines
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
Desired Skills: - Python development experience for data processing, automation, or pipeline development
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification
- Experience with healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), or claims processing data environments
- Familiarity with large-scale client implementations and enterprise application integrations
- Experience with both batch and real-time data processing architectures
- Kubernetes experience
- Java experience
