Database Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Database Engineer in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities:
* Integrate and package Snowflake features into a shared data platform
* Design and maintain Snowflake security, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities
* Automate Snowflake deployment and administration using SQL, Python, Bash, and infrastructure-as-code tools
* Partner with application development teams to enable seamless platform integration
* Manage Snowflake utilities using CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
* Perform Snowflake and AWS administration using Terraform and Ansible
* Provide escalated Snowflake platform support and operational guidance
* Develop Snowflake documentation, training materials, and operational job aids
* Support disaster recovery testing and business continuity activities
* Provide Snowflake implementation consulting and troubleshoot defects with vendor support teams

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of 6+ years of relevant professional experience in data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or database administration
* Proven experience administering the Snowflake data platform; SnowPro Core certification strongly preferred (advanced Snowflake certifications a plus)
* Strong experience with SQL development and relational database administration across platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
* Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting within Linux environments
* Working knowledge of Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation
* Experience with CI/CD toolchains, including GitLab, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
* Foundational cloud infrastructure administration experience, primarily with AWS; Azure or Google Cloud Platform experience acceptable
* Basic Linux system administration skills
* Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and workflow tools such as JIRA
* Understanding of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request) and tools such as ServiceNow

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
