The Product Engineer is to provide engineering design support, manufacturing and Lean support, and technical support for internal personnel and external customers.
Essential Functions- Responsible for the design, solid modeling, drafting, and support of new concepts and products, including Air Disc Brake Calipers, Rotors, Hubs, and Brake Drums.
- Responsible for Engineering Change Order including their creation and approval Identify and implement solutions for issues relating to Lean, safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction as they relate the design and function of the Webb AFM products and facilities.
- Work with Manufacturing and Quality to test and evaluate products as required to aid delivery or support customer service initiatives.
- Assist in warranty analysis and disposition to customers.
- Assist in data analysis from Fleet Testing, Data Acquisition Testing, and Dynamometer testing.
- Responsible for supplying technical support to customers and fleets in need of product and application information. Communications will be made via telephone, email, and customer/fleet visits.
- Required to travel (<20%) to customers and fleets in order to perform training presentations for large groups, up to 100 individuals at a time.
- Share specialized knowledge with others. Represent the Company on specific projects and participate of project teams as needed.
- Conduct product training (in-person and digital) for Webb customers, end-users, employees, and sales personnel.
- Aid in updating and maintaining bills of materials and Item Master information in MAS.
- Assist in maintaining product information such as weight reports and pattern wear reports.
- Assist in the development of New Product Bulletins, Service Bulletins and any other advertising or product training information.
- Assist in other specialized training projects as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications - Solid-modeling and drafting experience required (SolidWorks preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong typing/computer skills including MS Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Sound problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision
Experience- Minimum 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 1-5 years of automotive or manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
