Description
This position will serve as the primary manager of an internal application and the servers that support it. This role is responsible for overseeing deployments across multiple production environments, troubleshooting application and system issues, managing patches, and supporting day-to-day operational stability. The role will work closely with support teams to triage customer-reported issues, diagnose performance problems, and maintain proper workflow and documentation. Success in this role requires strong SQL skills, experience in Windows Server environments, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to operate as a collaborative, disciplined, and adaptable team member.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy applications across all environments, including Staging, Pre-Production, UAT, and Production.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reported application and system issues.
Perform moderate testing of applications after deployment.
Assist in updating testing, deployment, and operational guidelines.
Monitor client systems to ensure ongoing stability and expected performance.
Implement automation steps using proprietary job/worker management systems.
Coordinate with Support teams to triage and communicate issues related to running systems.
Construct SQL queries and scripting tools to investigate, analyze, and resolve application or performance problems.
Diagnose system-level performance issues and recommend solutions.
Provide daily operational support through early detection and monitoring of systems.
Collaborate with support groups to assist with root-cause analysis and system recovery.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Application Troubleshooting.
Proficiency with T-SQL programming.
Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and SSMS functionality.
Experience working in JIRA and SCRUM/Agile environments.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills across application and hosting environments.
Willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience with job control or job scheduling/management systems.
Basic object-oriented programming experience (C# or F# preferred).
Experience troubleshooting IT or system-level issues.
