Title: Jira Application Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer II (Jira Cloud) to join a dynamic Enterprise Technology team supporting collaboration platforms across Communication, Knowledge Management, and Work Management domains.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, administering, and optimizing Jira-based systems of work, enabling teams to fully leverage the capabilities of the Jira Cloud platform through integrations, automation, and scalable configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support a large-scale Jira Cloud environment (6,000+ users, 1M+ work items).
- Collaborate with stakeholders, delivery leads, and engineering teams to design, build, and deploy Jira solutions aligned with business needs.
- Gather and analyze requirements for complex systems of work, including new implementations and enhancements.
- Drive end-to-end delivery from requirement gathering to production deployment.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize and optimize Jira configurations (custom fields, workflows, schemes, etc.).
- Participate in Jira platform optimization and cleanup initiatives to reduce configuration elements within the client s Jira instance.
- Configure integrations, manage security, and troubleshoot access/permission issues.
- Review Atlassian product updates and communicate impacts to client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and review their deliverables.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and process guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Jira Cloud Administration
- 2+ years of experience with Jira Service Management (JSM) Cloud
- 4+ years of experience with Groovy scripting (ScriptRunner)
- Strong expertise in Jira add-ons such as:
- Advanced Planning
- Automation
- eazyBI
- ScriptRunner
- Structure
- Experience with Assets and Configuration Management in JSM
- Proven experience working in large-scale, cross-functional technical environments
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment
- Strong documentation and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Jira Product Discovery
- Atlassian Analytics
- Atlassian Rovo
- Atlassian Access (Guard)
- Familiarity with other SaaS tools like Airtable, Trello
- Programming/scripting knowledge in Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Experience with reporting tools like eazyBI or Tableau
- Atlassian Certifications:
- ACP-120 (Jira Administration for Cloud)
- ACP-420 (Managing Jira Service Projects for Cloud)
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field
