QA Automation with Playwright (In Person Interview)

Experience: 8+ Years (Need Local to NY)

Visa: EAD, TN, E2, L2, (No EAD)

Key Responsibilities

• Framework Architecture: Design and implement scalable, maintainable end-to-end automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright with TypeScript (or JavaScript/Python).

• Test Development: Convert manual test cases and user stories into robust automated scripts, focusing on high-risk and high-value user flows.

• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) to enable true "Continuous Testing."

• API & UI Testing: Perform seamless testing across the stack, including RESTful API validation and complex UI interactions (Shadow DOM, iframes, multi-tab workflows).

• Performance & Reliability: Optimize test execution for speed using Playwright’s parallelization and "sharding" features. Troubleshoot flaky tests to maintain a high level of trust in the automation suite.

• Collaboration: Participate in Sprint Planning and "Three Amigos" sessions to provide "Testability" feedback on new features before code is even written.

Required Technical Skills

• Core Tool: Hands-on experience with Playwright.

• Languages: Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript (most common for Playwright).

• Web Technologies: Strong understanding of the DOM, CSS Selectors, XPath, and how modern browsers work.

• Version Control: Expert-level knowledge of Git (branching, merging, pull requests).

• API Testing: Experience with Playwright’s built-in API testing features or tools like Postman/Axios.

• Reporting: Experience with Playwright’s Trace Viewer and HTML reporters to analyze and communicate test failures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience migrating legacy suites from Selenium or Cypress to Playwright.

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized test execution.

• Knowledge of Visual Regression Testing (e.g., Applitools or Playwright’s native screenshot comparison).

• Experience with BDD (Behavior Driven Development) using Cucumber/Gherkin.
