Our client seeks a senior software engineer to lead front-end focused development using React, TypeScript, and server-side rendering to deliver client-facing web applications. The role will drive iterative delivery with product and design, promote reusable components and design tokens, and ensure accessible, performant experiences. The engineer will partner across domains for end-to-end solutions, uphold code quality through reviews and mentorship, and stay current with modern frontend practices to support a scalable platform.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $100.00 to $115.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Champion iterative delivery with product, design, and engineering partners.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and performant React web applications with strong client experiences.
  • Promote reusable components and Tailwind design tokens to enable consistent reuse.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Partner with domain and data providers to deliver end-to-end integrations.
  • Leverage headless CMS and low-code solutions when appropriate.
  • Ensure code quality and maintainability through reviews and mentorship.
  • Advocate for customers using experimentation and data-driven decisions.
  • Stay current on frontend trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Design and enhance SPA and SSR applications using frameworks such as React and Remix.
  • Contribute to technical design, architecture, and code to support team delivery.
  • Own front-end application design decisions and domain integrations.
  • Mentor distributed engineers in front-end design and techniques.
  • Act as a technical lead for the engineering team.
  • Create clear, thorough technical documentation.
  • Consult with other teams on front-end applications.
  • Investigate and recommend guidelines for internal and external frameworks and new technologies.

Experience Requirements:
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Expertise building externally facing, highly available UI experiences in React or similar frameworks such as Next.js or Angular.
  • Experience collaborating with UI/UX designers and using design systems, component libraries, charting libraries, and tables/grids.
  • Proven record of teamwork and rapid delivery, including supporting and guiding peers to resolve engineering impediments.
  • Expertise with build optimization and bundling tools.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSocket, and related web protocols.
  • Deep knowledge of patterns, antipatterns, and best practices for large-scale customer-facing solutions.
  • Experience with backend for frontend architectures and/or lambda functions (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Cloudflare as a CDN and caching layer (preferred).
  • Experience programming in C# and .NET technologies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure (preferred).
  • FinTech or financial services or other regulated industry experience (preferred).
  • Experience at high-growth, venture-backed startups and scaling post-IPO (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
