About the role:

As a Electrical/Computer Engineering Intern, you will support development, testing, and integration activities for safety-related industrial control systems. You will work with multidisciplinary engineers to design, analyze, and validate software and logic used in high-reliability environments.

You will report to the Manager, I&C Safety Software and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help develop and maintain software and control logic using C, C#, or C++
  • Support implementation and testing of PLC-based control functions and simulation workflows
  • Contribute to verification, troubleshooting, and structured validation activities for safety-critical systems
  • Use engineering tools such as version control systems, build environments, and automated test frameworks
  • Participate in reviews, documentation updates, and standardized engineering processes related to safety systems

Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • Familiarity with PLC programming or industrial control concepts
  • Coursework or project experience in C, C#, or C++
  • Interest in safety-critical systems, embedded development, or industrial automation

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
