Network Project Manager - NFOD PMO
Role Overview

The Network Facilities and Optimization Decommission (NFOD) PMO is seeking experienced Network Project Managers to drive the implementation of a comprehensive facility decommissioning process.

This role is responsible for orchestrating the strategic consolidation, relocation, and decommissioning of non-directional buildings and associated leases to achieve significant footprint and cost reductions. You will also lead process development and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on enhancing SLAs for facility exits from both project and program management perspectives.

Target Experience: 5-7 years in project management.
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Architecture
  • Lead execution of an end-to-end facility decommissioning process.
  • Monitor and report program performance and milestones.
  • Drive continuous process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and execution across cross-functional teams.
Data & Advanced Analytics
  • Utilize advanced analytics to track program progress and performance.
  • Analyze:
    • Optical and TDM circuit utilization
    • Third-party lease data
    • Energy consumption metrics
  • Integrate insights across multiple network domains to support decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive alignment and consensus to ensure adoption of program strategies.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver results successfully.
Required Skills (Must-Have)
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications networks at the device, circuit, and transport levels.
  • Working knowledge of network and customer circuit hierarchy and design.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present technical concepts to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ability to develop long-term strategies aligning network and real estate objectives with broader business goals.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with systems such as TIRKS, NAR, Canvas, Smartsheets, IVAPP.
  • Background in circuit, equipment, or facility decommissioning and modeling.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) or automation solutions.
  • Experience in data mining and modeling using NAR or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of legacy transport migration planning.
  • Advanced degree in Project/Program Management, Leadership, or Telecommunications.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of industry experience (can include work, military, or specialized training).
Work Location
  • Hybrid work model available from major office locations.
  • Preference for candidates based near Ashburn, VA or Basking Ridge, NJ.
