Note: This role is based in Redmond, WA and requires candidates to work onsite five days per week.
About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled SAP BTP ABAP Lead to drive cloud-native development initiatives on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) using ABAP Cloud (Steampunk) and the RAP framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade OData V2/V4 services using RAP
- Build and maintain Business Objects using Behavior Definitions (BDEF) and Behavior Implementations (BIMP)
- Develop scalable ABAP CDS Views with UI annotations, analytical capabilities, and optimized performance
- Implement ABAP Cloud and Clean Core principles for upgrade-safe extensibility
- Design side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP for SAP S/4HANA environments
- Enable event-driven processes using RAP Business Events, Event Mesh, and APIs
- Collaborate with architects, functional consultants, and business stakeholders
- Mentor development teams and establish coding best practices
Required Skills:
- Strong SAP ABAP development background
- Hands-on expertise with SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk)
- Deep knowledge of RAP, CDS Views, OData V2/V4, and Fiori Elements
- Experience with Clean Core and SAP cloud extensibility concepts
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and extension frameworks
- Experience with Event Mesh, APIs, and integration patterns
- Leadership experience managing technical delivery teams
Preferred:
- SAP BTP or ABAP Cloud certifications
- Experience in large-scale enterprise SAP transformation programs
