The Apple Services Engineering AI/ML Quality organization is looking for a Quality Engineer with a passion for building and validating quality systems at scale, with strong experience in leading multi-functional projects, developing test and automation strategies in a fast moving team, partnering across Quality, Engineering, Program Management, and Product development. You will qualify a large variety of APIs dependent on a multitude of ecosystems to deliver high quality services to Apple's customers.\n\nYou will be responsible for the following:\n\n* Define end-to-end test strategy for AI/ML-powered services in partnership with multi-functional stakeholders\n* Author test plans and identify edge cases, failure modes, and risk areas across distributed services and ML lifecycle pipelines\n* Develop and maintain automated API, service-level tests, and validations for data and ML pipelines, as features are being implemented\n* Design and evolve automation frameworks and tooling that scale across teams and product surfaces\n* Apply AI tooling and proof of concept models to build solutions that advance the rigor, coverage, and productivity of quality engineering\n* Drive best practices around quality gates, CI/CD, continuous training, and continuous testing, fostering a culture of built-in quality throughout the SDLC\n* Surface coverage gaps and drive process and architectural improvements across the SDLC through quality\n* Define and track quality metrics such as test coverage, flakiness, and pipeline reliability across systems\n* Mentor junior team members\n\n
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years, or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years, of experience in software development and/or test automation, including at least 3 years leading complex, distributed systems.\nProficiency in Java, Python or similar programming languages\nExperience with planning and execution of validating REST and gRPC APIs \nPassion for quality engineering and delivering large scale distributed systems \nCreative problem solving with attention to detail \nSolid communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple collaborators \nHighly organized, creative, self-motivated, and passionate about achieving results. Knowledge of Big Data systems is a plus \nExperience with testing or working with AI and/or ML systems is a plus\nAdept at leveraging technology to solve problems, including building tooling, automating tasks
