Scrum Master

Description:
Gridiron IT is looking to hire a Scrum Master to support a government program in St. Louis, MO.

Role Overview: The Scrum Master for the migration team is responsible for guiding and facilitating the assessment, planning, and migration of applications to a new hosting environment within the Agile framework. This role combines the responsibilities of a Scrum Master with the technical leadership required for complex application migration projects.

Responsibilities include:
Facilitating Scrum events (Program Increment Planning, Sprint Planning, and Daily Standups)
Remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics.
Coach the team on Agile and Scrum practices.
Collaborate with Product Owners to manage the backlog effectively.
Lead the assessment of current applications, including architecture, dependencies, and performance characteristics.
Analyze the compatibility of applications with new hosting environments.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each application's migration.
Design strategies to migrate applications, whether it be lifting and shifting or refactoring for a new hosting environment.
Distill larger goals into actionable tasks to be addressed by team members.
Develop migration approaches specific to each types of applications.
Collaborate with technical teams to determine the most appropriate migration method for each application (e.g., rehosting, refactoring, re-architecting).
Coordinate with other teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
Compile and track against project tracking measurements.
Communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
Collaborate with Product Management to ensure business priorities are reflected in the migration plan.
Work with operations teams to ensure smooth transition and handover of migrated applications.

Required Skills and Experience:
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
Strong understanding of cloud technologies and application migration concepts
Experience in application assessment and modernization
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
This role requires a unique blend of Agile leadership, technical knowledge, and strategic thinking to successfully guide teams through complex application migration projects within a SAFe Agile framework.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $70-80 hourly (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
