Senior Content Writer (Communications & Change Enablement)


Location: Fully Onsite - McLean, VA
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $40-45/hr on W2


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Content Writer with strong experience in communications and change enablement to support enterprise and divisional initiatives. This is a hands-on role focused on creating clear, engaging, and impactful internal communication content while supporting organizational change and employee adoption initiatives.


The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with exceptional writing and editing skills, capable of translating complex business and technical concepts into concise, audience-friendly messaging. The role requires someone who can work independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment with minimal guidance.



Responsibilities



  • Develop and deliver clear, accurate, and engaging communication content for enterprise initiatives.

  • Translate complex technical and business topics into easy-to-understand messaging.

  • Create internal communication materials including emails, presentations, SharePoint pages, intranet content, user guides, and job aids.

  • Support organizational change and adoption efforts through effective messaging and enablement content.

  • Build executive-level and employee-facing PowerPoint presentations with strong storytelling and visual clarity.

  • Create and manage SharePoint pages, including multi-column layouts, images, and basic page design from scratch.

  • Develop training materials, communication toolkits, and onboarding/support documentation.

  • Assist with video scripting and basic video content creation when needed.

  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and align communication strategies.

  • Ensure consistency, quality, accuracy, and brand alignment across all deliverables.

  • Manage multiple short-term and long-term projects simultaneously while working independently.



Required Qualifications:



  • Proven experience in content writing, internal communications, content production, or organizational communications.

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to independently research, analyze, and synthesize complex information.

  • Experience supporting organizational change management initiatives (ADKAR, CTME familiarity preferred).

  • Strong understanding of stakeholder vs. audience communication strategies.

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills for executive storytelling and employee communication sessions.

  • Strong SharePoint experience, including building pages from scratch.

  • Working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables.

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills .

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment without handholding.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in large enterprise environments

  • Exposure to change enablement and adoption communications

  • Experience creating video scripts or basic video editing

  • SharePoint page design/wireframing experience

  • Portfolio of writing samples including emails, presentations, web pages, intranet content, or corporate communications.
