Job Title: Mid Level Network Engineer- travel required
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Coral Gables
44485
Supporting the upcoming world cup tournament for FIFA. Roles will require people to potentially travel to any of the venues at some point if a need arises. One of the roles is a floating position. We would like that person to be based in Coral Gables, FL as well with the expectation that they will be traveling frequently. All travel will be paid by the resources upfront and reimbursed with per diems for meals.
Pretty cool opportunity to get involved with the World Cup. Each location has some slight differences, but overall we're looking for strong Cisco Network Engineering generalists that can jump into projects that pop up. They've got a ton of work going on and need the extra hands to support more of the general work because as it stands their senior engineers are getting bogged down with this work and is taking them away from other items that they need to be focused on.
Position Overview:
Provide onsite network engineering support for the tournament program with a focus on Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCDR) execution and documentation of test results, plus general hands-on implementation and troubleshooting support across program workstreams.
Key responsibilities
Execute documented BCDR failover procedures involving Cisco and Palo Alto; capture outcomes (status, duration, observations) similar to Proof of Concept testing.
Participate in and support the FIFA BCDR tabletop exercise
Configure Cisco Catalyst switches (Layer 2/Layer 3) via CLI using provided configuration scripts when required.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues using OSI Layer 1 4 methodology across LAN and Wi Fi environments.
Engage directly with customer stakeholders to clarify symptoms, ask targeted questions, and drive to resolution.
Provide support during non-standard hours as required by testing windows and event schedules.
Required qualifications
CCNA-level networking capability (certification preferred).
Hands-on experience configuring/troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst switching (L2/L3) and enterprise LAN/Wi Fi.
Working knowledge of Cisco ISE, Palo Alto firewalls, and Windows DHCP concepts.
Strong communication skills and customer-facing troubleshooting approach.
Preferred qualifications
Prior experience supporting BCDR/DR testing, tabletop exercises, or cutover/failover events.
Experience in event, venue, broadcast, or large-scale temporary network deployments.
