Role Overview
The organization requires an experienced Snowflake Administrator and Systems Analyst to manage, optimize, and secure the enterprise Snowflake data platform while driving system automation and business process improvements. This role uniquely blends deep technical administration—including enterprise data governance, AI enablement, and platform optimization—with the analytical capability to translate business objectives into effective technical solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities
Systems Analysis & Business Alignment

  • Requirements Gathering: Understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform cost/benefit analyses of alternatives.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze user requirements, operational procedures, and business problems to automate processing or improve existing systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Confer with organizational units to analyze current procedures, identify problems, and document specific input and output requirements (e.g., data input forms, data summaries, report formats).
  • Technical Documentation: Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and the steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Feasibility Assessment: Review system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested programs or changes are viable within the existing system.
 
Snowflake Platform Administration
  • Platform Management: Manage and optimize the Snowflake platform in a dedicated DBA/Admin capacity, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient operations across all environments.
  • Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize warehouse performance, compute costs, and query execution.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts for environment provisioning, proactive monitoring, and routine maintenance.
 
Security, Governance & Identity Management
  • Access Management: Design, implement, and manage Snowflake roles, privileges, and user provisioning to align with enterprise IAM processes.
  • Data Governance: Implement robust Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and enterprise data access governance.
  • SSO Integration: Manage Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations with enterprise identity providers (e.g., Okta, SailPoint).
  • Security Controls: Implement strict security measures, including data encryption, dynamic data masking, and comprehensive audit monitoring.
 
AI Enablement & Data Engineering
  • AI Integration: Enable and support Snowflake AI (Cortex) features, overseeing AI functions, governance, and monitoring to empower enterprise AI capabilities.
  • Data Pipelines: Build, support, and optimize data pipelines and complex data transformations using DBT.
  • Workflow Orchestration: Integrate Snowflake with Openflow (or similar orchestration tools) to drive seamless workflow automation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and AI teams to support advanced data and analytics use cases.
 
Required Skills
  • 8+ Years: Strong hands-on experience administering the Snowflake platform (DBA/Admin role).
  • 8+ Years: Experience implementing RBAC and data access governance.
  • 8+ Years: Experience with SSO integration (e.g., Okta, SailPoint).
  • 8+ Years: Enabling and supporting Snowflake AI (Cortex) features, including AI functions, governance, and monitoring.
  • 8+ Years: Designing and managing Snowflake roles, privileges, and user provisioning aligned with enterprise IAM processes.
  • 8+ Years: Building and supporting data pipelines and transformations using DBT.
  • 8+ Years: Integrating Snowflake with Openflow (or similar orchestration tools) for workflow automation
  • 8+ Years: Monitoring and optimizing warehouse performance, cost, and query execution
  • 8+ Years: Implementing security controls including encryption, masking, and audit monitoring.
  • 8+ Years: Developing automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance
  • 8+ Years: Collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and AI teams to support data and analytics use cases.
 
Desired Skills
  • 4+ Years: Experience with DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for data platforms.
  • 3+ Years: Experience integrating Openflow or workflow orchestration tools.
  • 3+ Years: Familiarity with public sector or healthcare compliance environments.
