Scope/Objective:
Support of Configuration Drift management via Salt solution on ICPW by PSO on both VCF 5.2.x and VCF 9.x
Core skills:
VMware (specifically VCF 9, newer and harder to find)
Automation (Salt)
Objective / Scope Provide expert support for Configuration Drift Management using Salt solution on ICPW platform , ensuring consistent, compliant, and automated configuration management across VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x environments.
Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and support configuration drift detection and remediation using SaltStack
- Ensure infrastructure consistency across environments (Dev, QA, Prod)
- Develop and maintain configuration baselines and policies
- Automate remediation workflows for identified drift scenarios
- Provide operational and technical support for VMware Cloud Foundation environments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with business needs
- Provide regular updates, documentation, and knowledge transfer
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and reliability
- Drive enhancements in tooling, scripts, and operational processes
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with SaltStack (Salt)
- Experience in Configuration Drift Management / Infrastructure as Code
- Deep understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture
Soft Skills - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder communication and consulting mindset
- Ability to lead technical discussions and manage client expectations
- Self-driven with ability to work independently in complex environments
