Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Security Engineer to join a mature and evolving Application Security team within a large enterprise cybersecurity organization. This team is responsible for protecting critical information assets and driving the adoption of secure software development practices across the business.
This role plays a key part in strengthening secure development processes, improving security controls, and reducing vulnerabilities across production systems. The ideal candidate brings a balance of deep technical security expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and advance the organization's Secure Software Development Program (SSDLC)
  • Partner with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle
  • Provide security architecture guidance for new and existing applications
  • Conduct and support:
    • Static Application Security Testing (SAST)
    • Software Composition Analysis (SCA)
    • Penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Identify, analyze, and help remediate application security vulnerabilities
  • Perform threat modeling and architectural risk assessments
  • Implement and scale enterprise-level application security tools and services
  • Analyze large sets of security data and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Promote and educate engineering teams on secure coding practices and standards
  • Assist with security requirements definition and code review processes
  • Evaluate and improve application security controls and processes

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience within an Application Security or Software Security Assurance team
  • Strong experience in application/software engineering
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as:
    • SAST
    • SCA
    • Secrets management tools
  • Experience integrating security testing tools into Agile/CI-CD environments
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Common web and application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
    • Attack vectors and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with:
    • Threat modeling
    • Secure code reviews
    • Security requirements analysis
    • Application architecture risk assessments
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks:
    • OWASP
    • NIST
    • CIS
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with:
    • Static analysis tools and/or threat modeling tools
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering teams and balance security with development velocity
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing and scaling enterprise application security programs
  • Familiarity with modern development practices (DevOps, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.00 - $76.00/hr.
