Software Development Engineer

About Your Role

You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications, specifically supporting our financial institution clients. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.

What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary

Experience you'll need to have:
  • 6+ years of experience in software development
  • 6+ years of experience in core Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate and REST frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience in core .NET development
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL databases
  • 3+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform services
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:
  • Proficient with Angular/React for front-end development and API integration
  • Prior experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Ability to provide production support with on-call rotations, incident triage and troubleshooting using tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace
  • Prior experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Kafka and designing/operating large distributed microservice systems.

How you'll work:
  • Fiserv emphasizes in-person collaboration to help you grow your career while shaping the future of fintech, this role is on-site Monday through Friday
  • This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
  • This role requires flexibility to work overtime that includes weekends and holidays
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment
