Senior Fortinet Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in NYC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Network Engineer to support and optimize complex Azure and hybrid cloud networking environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who excels at troubleshooting network connectivity issues, investigating routing and DNS challenges, supporting incident response activities, and validating network resiliency and failover capabilities. This is not a network architecture redesign position. We are looking for someone who can quickly identify root causes, resolve issues, and ensure the stability and performance of mission-critical cloud infrastructure.

Duties:
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues across Azure and hybrid cloud environments
* Investigate routing, VPN, DNS, firewall, and connectivity problems impacting business-critical applications
* Support incident response efforts and work closely with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to restore services
* Analyze route propagation, effective routes, asymmetric routing, and network failover scenarios
* Validate high-availability, disaster recovery, and resiliency configurations through testing and analysis
* Support connectivity between Azure, on-premises environments, and AWS
* Review and troubleshoot existing Terraform configurations related to network deployments
* Provide recommendations to improve reliability, availability, and operational performance of cloud networking environments

REQUIREMENTS:
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed

Nice to have experience with:
* FortiGate
* AKS networking
* Linux networking
* HA/DR validation and failover testing

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
