Notes:

In addition to Sybase, the candidate must have either SQL or Oracle experience.
Client is on-site 4 days/week so if in the Detroit area, if they'd be willing on-site would be preferred.

Job Description:

The SYBASE DBA role is focused on supporting database administration architecture development and implementation of best practices. This role is ideally located in Michigan.
Perform next generation SQL DB architecture, design and implementation
Perform DB upgrades and Migrations.
This position would also support Oracle or SQL DBA functions in addition to Sybase as the Sybase footprint is much smaller.

Future Duties and Responsibilities

Resolve high priority plant issues related to the database development work
Provide operational support DB monitoring tuning, backup and restore functions
Perform infrastructure Sybase DBA duties such as:

Database design and implementation (Logical and Physical)
Backup and Restore
Database tuning
Weekly maintenance activities such as run stats
Database expansion
Implement additional databases/tables

Modify schemas as requested to applications
