Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer / Technical Lead for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role will take bottom-line technical ownership of a program within the Google Cloud Platform data migration organization. This position is a combination of technical leadership, architecture/design, and hands-on engineering. The lead will be responsible for helping internal teams migrate data from on-prem and other cloud platforms into Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and will lead a small team, potentially including offshore and/or junior resources.
Responsibilities: - Design end-to-end data pipelines into Google Cloud Platform
- Provide hands-on development/coding when necessary
- Own technical design, implementation and production releases
- Coordinate requirements and delivery across business partners, architecture, networking, and engineering/development teams
- Assign work to team members and ensure delivery is completed
- Track production releases and required release activities
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction
- Troubleshoot coding, design and implementation issues
- Perform root-cause analysis and develop remediation solutions
Requirements: - Approximately 15 years of overall experience in a senior technical lead or leadership role
- Strong Google Cloud Platform experience, specifically within the data ecosystem
- Experience with data pipeline / ETL engineering
- Proficiency with BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and Google Cloud Storage
- Strong understanding of how Python is used specifically within Google Cloud Platform/Composer and related data workflows
- CI/CD experience, including GitHub
- Experience with Agile/Jira
- Strong data background with experience moving/integrating data between platforms
- Proven ability to own a program/workstream and lead a small team
- Excellent communication skills to work with business and technical stakeholders
Desired skills: - Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
- Java exposure
- Direct data migration experience
- Financial services industry experience
Pay range: $71.88 - $79.88 per hour
