Summary

Job Description: QA Tester (Azure DevOps / Mainframe /Medicaid MES)
Workplace Type: Hybrid (Richmond, VA - 2-3 days onsite weekly)
Duration: 2 Years
Employment Type: Contract

Overview
The agency recently awarded its Fiscal Agent Services (FAS) contract-part of the broader Medicaid Enterprise Services (MES) ecosystem-to its incumbent vendor. As it transitions core claims and financial modules from a legacy mainframe environment to a modern Microsoft Azure cloud platform, the organization requires highly skilled Senior QA Testers to support this large-scale modernization effort.
These testers will collaborate across multiple vendors, validate vendor-delivered testing, and ensure seamless system integration between mainframe systems and Azure-based solutions. This role requires deep experience in mainframe QA, Azure DevOps Test Management, and multi-vendor defect coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and execute test cases based on vendor requirements and system specifications.
  • Perform System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across mainframe and Azure-based systems.
  • Validate vendor-delivered testing results and ensure compliance with DMAS quality standards.
  • Manage and track defects across multiple vendors, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with internal DMAS teams, Conduent, and other MES vendors to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Support the migration of legacy mainframe functionality to the Azure cloud environment.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of QA Testing experience, with a strong focus on mainframe testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Test Management and Azure Test Plans.
  • Proven background in System Integration Testing (SIT) and UAT involving mainframe-to-cloud integrations.
  • Strong experience with multi-vendor defect management in complex enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid systems, MES modules, or healthcare claims processing is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in large vendor ecosystems.
