Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Portfolio Manager to oversee enterprise IT portfolio planning, governance, financial management, and strategic project execution. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong executive communication skills who can collaborate with senior leadership to manage technology investments, optimize portfolio performance, and ensure alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT portfolio management, financial reporting, project governance, resource planning, and stakeholder management, along with expertise in enterprise portfolio management tools and reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain the enterprise IT portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technology strategies.
- Prepare executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for IT leadership.
- Perform IT financial analysis, budget tracking, total cost of ownership (TCO), showback reporting, and spend management.
- Consolidate and analyze IT investments across programs and projects.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to collect, validate, and report portfolio data.
- Support contract forecasting, budget planning, and financial governance activities.
- Develop and maintain IT portfolio governance frameworks, standards, policies, and best practices.
- Facilitate annual IT planning sessions to identify technology priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Manage the intake and evaluation process for new technology projects, ensuring funding, resource availability, and business alignment.
- Develop project prioritization frameworks based on business value, risk, resource capacity, and strategic objectives.
- Create and maintain portfolio roadmaps and project sequencing plans.
- Perform portfolio capacity planning and resource forecasting.
- Identify project dependencies, critical paths, and potential delivery risks.
- Conduct portfolio health reviews and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
- Develop and maintain portfolio risk management strategies and mitigation plans.
- Monitor portfolio performance using dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across portfolio management processes.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to implement quality assurance processes and governance reviews.
- Provide oversight and guidance to Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and Business Analysts throughout project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT Project, Program, or Portfolio Management.
- Proven experience managing enterprise IT portfolios and strategic initiatives.
- Strong background in IT financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience developing executive dashboards and portfolio performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of portfolio governance, project lifecycle management, and PMO best practices.
- Experience with portfolio prioritization, capacity planning, and resource management.
- Strong knowledge of risk management methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and executive-level presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with senior executives, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
