About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Commercial Service Technician with strong
fire systems experience to join a growing security services team. This technician will service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial fire and security systems across Maryland.
This is a customer-facing role requiring professionalism, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
Top Required Skills1. Fire Systems Experience (Must-Have)Minimum
5 years in the commercial security industry with hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting fire equipment, including:
- Fire alarm panels & systems
- Fire inspections
- Low-voltage cabling
- Motion sensors, locks, smoke detectors, CO detectors
- Hardwired & wireless CCTV systems
- Access control systems
2. Strong Communication SkillsAbility to effectively interact with:
- Security leadership
- End customers
- Project managers
- Technical support teams
3. Technical Troubleshooting & Customer Service- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues
- Provide high-quality customer support
- Basic installation knowledge to replace common components
Nice-to-Have Skills- Fire alarm installation
- Alarm system installation
- Security system servicing
- SLA & ticketing system experience
- General technical service experience
Daily Responsibilities- Manage 4 service tickets per day on average
- Receive schedule one week in advance
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment, including:
- Alarm.com
- DMP
- DSC (832, 1832, Alexor, Impassa, Neo)
- Qolsys
- Bosch keypads
- Honeywell
- Concord
- Vista
- Plus additional systems as required
- Work with sensors, locks, glass break devices, smoke & CO detectors
- Fire panel experience is a plus (training available):
- Silent Knight (6808, 6820)
- Potter AFC (1000, 100, IPA series)
Additional Qualifications- Strong fire knowledge (top priority)
- Low-voltage cable experience
- Ability to work in both occupied and new-construction commercial sites
- Efficient schedule management
- Ability to work independently and in small teams
- Calm under pressure in outage or emergency environments

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parkville, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
