In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional development, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality software releases using modern .NET technologies. You will own the MSI packaging and deployment lifecycles, influence architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust desktop and backend applications using C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core / Windows Services.
  • Installer & Packaging Engineering: Create, maintain, and troubleshoot MSI packages, bootstrapper applications, upgrade packages, patches, hotfixes, and silent installation routines using WiX Toolset and Advanced Installer.
  • Release & Deployment Strategy: Architect reliable upgrade, patching, rollback, and migration strategies for enterprise software releases.
  • CI/CD & Automation: Contribute to automated CI/CD pipelines, release management workflows, and infrastructure scripting using GitHub Actions and PowerShell.
  • Technical Leadership: Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot complex installation-related production issues, and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Development Experience: 5-6+ years of professional software development experience specializing in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and Windows Services.
  • Installer Expertise: Hands-on proficiency with Advanced Installer and WiX Toolset, with a deep understanding of Windows Installer internals and troubleshooting deployment issues.
  • Release Engineering: Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and writing PowerShell automation scripts.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to lead technical initiatives and guide team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture or event-driven distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Blazor).
  • Previous experience leading small technical teams or driving architectural roadmaps.
