Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced GIS Specialist (ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator & Developer) to support a leading Utilities client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise administration combined with Python development experience to automate administrative tasks, patch management, user governance, and enterprise GIS operations.

This role requires hands-on experience with ArcGIS API for Python, Python scripting, PowerShell, AWS, and ArcGIS Enterprise components. The primary focus will be on ArcGIS administration, automation, and maintaining a secure, scalable GIS environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the ArcGIS Enterprise platform, including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Develop automation scripts using ArcGIS API for Python and Python to streamline ArcGIS Enterprise administration.
• Automate ArcGIS Enterprise patch discovery, security updates, and critical patch deployment workflows.
• Implement ArcGIS Pro silent patching and upgrade automation.
• Manage Portal user governance, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, and license management.
• Develop solutions for orphan and inactive user detection and external user compliance reporting.
• Generate user type, license utilization, and governance reports.
• Perform content cleanup, dependency analysis, and content lifecycle management.
• Promote GIS content between QA and Production environments using automated workflows.
• Create and maintain runbooks, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform stability, security, and performance.
• Support AWS-hosted ArcGIS Enterprise environments and related infrastructure automation.

• Content dependency mapping and cleanup
• Experience creating operational runbooks and technical documentation
• Experience working with AWS environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Utilities industry.
• Strong understanding of enterprise GIS architecture and best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
