Summary

Job Title: Kafka Tech Lead – Operations
Client: Hospitality Industry
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Location: Bethesda ,MD ( Hybrid -3 days a week)

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Tech Lead with strong operational expertise to support and manage enterprise Kafka streaming platforms for a leading hospitality client, Marriott. The role will focus on Kafka cluster operations, monitoring, performance tuning, and production support for large-scale real-time data streaming systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Kafka platform operations and ensure stability of Kafka clusters in production environments.
Manage Kafka cluster setup, configuration, upgrades, and scaling.
Monitor Kafka infrastructure using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
Troubleshoot Kafka performance issues, consumer lag, partitions, and replication problems.
Support Kafka producers, consumers, and streaming pipelines across enterprise applications.
Implement Kafka security, monitoring, and operational best practices.
Work with DevOps and application teams to support data streaming platforms.

Required Skills

8 years of IT experience with strong Apache Kafka expertise.
Hands-on experience in Kafka operations and production support.
Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture, cluster management, partitions, replication, and performance tuning.
Experience with Kafka ecosystem tools (Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams).
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
Strong Linux and scripting experience (Python/Shell).
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
