Job Description
We are seeking an Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team supporting the AI Copilot Agent initiative within the Global Technology division of a leading financial institution. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and Spark MLlib and a proven ability to design, build, and integrate robust data and ML pipelines that meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This is an onsite role with a July start and requires individual contributor responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data processing and ML pipelines using Python, Spark, and Airflow.
- Implement and operationalize AI Copilot Agent features aligned to enterprise architecture and governance standards.
- Write clean, testable code with clear interfaces and comprehensive unit tests.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, security, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with platform, architecture, and product teams to improve developer experience and delivery efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize jobs for scalability and cost.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Python for data engineering and application development.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, including Spark SQL and Spark MLlib.
- Production experience orchestrating workflows with Apache Airflow.
- Strong knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD practices, and code quality standards.
- Ability to design and integrate services with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces.
- Experience in regulated environments with attention to compliance and controls.
- Experience level: 5+ years in software or data engineering roles.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience building AI assistant or copilot solutions at scale.
- Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, governance, and observability tooling.
