Overview

GovCIO is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator III (Senior) to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of complex computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies, including those in critical or high-security environments
  • Install, configure, and upgrade complex systems and software, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software errors, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve critical issues
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Lead the implementation of automation processes to streamline IT operations and improve efficiency
  • Mentor and provide guidance to mid-level Systems Administrators, fostering their professional development and technical expertise
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and industry best practices
  • Provide direction and mentorship to subordinate staff


Qualifications

High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • minimum of 9 years years overall experience with 5 of those years specifically in systems administration, with a proven track record of managing and maintaining complex IT infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and their administration.
  • Expertise in server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowl edge of system security best practices and hardening techniques.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices.
  • Strong anal ytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve system-related issues.
  • Ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex technical problems.
  • must have or obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire.
  • possess advanced knowledge of operating systems, server hardware, virtualization platforms, network infrastructure, and security best practices
  • Clearance Required: Top Secret


Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools. Experience with monitoring and performance tuning of systems. Relevant certifications in systems administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Server+).
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
