Linux Infrastructure Engineer
Remote
Role Purpose
Own the day-to-day engineering and operational support of enterprise Linux systems across on-premises and cloud environments. The candidate must provide strong Oracle Linux/RHEL administration, automation, identity integration, patching, performance/log analysis, and root-cause troubleshooting, while working effectively with Windows, network, cloud, and application/database teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer, patch, monitor, secure, and troubleshoot Oracle Linux/RHEL-family systems in production enterprise environments.
• Operate systemd, packages, repositories, services, kernel/OS configuration, log collection, and performance-analysis tooling.
• Author and maintain Bash/shell automation and Ansible playbooks for configuration, remediation, standardization, and repeatable operations.
• Support authentication and directory integration using SSSD, directory joins, sudo policy, certificates, and common Linux identity patterns.
• Troubleshoot service dependencies, including DNS, NTP, host networking, TLS/SSL, routing/connectivity, and certificate failures.
• Support Linux-hosted workloads in Azure and OCI, including compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and patching dependencies.
• Provide operational support for enterprise application platforms; work effectively with Oracle E-Business Suite, OBIEE, and database support teams where relevant.
• Create and maintain runbooks, technical documentation, operational change records, incident evidence, and root-cause analysis material.
Preferred Technical Skills
The following are not absolute gating criteria unless specifically called out during candidate review. They materially strengthen the candidate’s fit and should be highlighted in the recruiter submission.
• Operational familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite, OBIEE, Oracle Database-supported application environments, or related middleware platforms.
• Oracle Linux, Red Hat, Ansible, Azure, OCI, or equivalent relevant current certifications.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Python, or configuration-management pipelines.
• Enterprise backup/recovery, monitoring/observability, vulnerability remediation, or hardening experience.
• Windows / cross-platform identity integration and regulated-enterprise operations experience.
Cross-Functional / T-Shaped Requirements
The primary vertical is enterprise Linux. The candidate must understand the surrounding cloud, network, Windows, identity, and application dependencies well enough to troubleshoot end-to-end operational incidents.
• Working Azure and OCI operations knowledge for Linux-hosted workloads and the common cloud primitives they depend on.
