Position OverviewWe are seeking a Systems Engineer II to support the development and sustainment of mission-critical navigation systems for maritime environments. This role focuses on contributing to a real-time, GPS-based data fusion and distribution system that integrates multiple navigation sensor inputs to deliver accurate and reliable positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) data.
This is an onsite position requiring close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute automated and manual test procedures to validate GPS-based systems
- Perform system verification and validation (V& V) activities for complex, integrated systems
- Analyze and troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues
- Support requirements development and decomposition in collaboration with subject matter experts
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to resolve technical issues
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and execution
- Document test results and support system-level validation during customer test events
- Provide regular status updates on progress, risks, and issues
Requirements Required Qualifications- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, testing, or related technical roles
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or 5+ years of equivalent experience
- Experience developing and executing automated and manual test procedures
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches/routers, and basic electronic circuitry
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Basic scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar)
- Understanding of configuration management and peer review processes
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with GPS or navigation systems
- Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle principles (requirements, integration, verification, validation)
- Ability to assess and mitigate technical risks
- Experience reviewing technical drawings and system requirements
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced or rapid development environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with military systems, concepts, or operational environments
- Active and transferable U.S. Secret security clearance (preferred)
