The Portfolio Manager AI Solutions is responsible for coordinating and supporting the active management of enterprise-wide artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics initiatives across multiple business and functional areas. This role ensures effective portfolio planning, prioritization, resourcing, execution, and value realization for AI programs in collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, data scientists, AI engineers, and external partners.
The role focuses on aligning AI initiatives with strategic objectives, measuring business value delivery, managing interdependencies across projects, and enabling successful adoption of AI-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
AI Portfolio & Program Management
- Coordinate planning, authorization, prioritization, and execution of AI and analytics initiatives across the organization.
- Develop and maintain portfolio management plans, including milestones, resource requirements, team structures, change management plans, and benefit targets.
- Analyze, evaluate, and prioritize project opportunities and alternative approaches to build a balanced portfolio of high-value AI initiatives.
- Track project progress, risks, and issues, and lead cross-functional teams to resolve challenges effectively.
AI Value Measurement & Reporting
- Design, implement, and continuously refine the AI Value Measurement Framework.
- Maintain the AI Value Tracking Dashboard to monitor realized and projected business value from AI initiatives.
- Ensure consistent measurement, tracking, and reporting of value across the AI portfolio.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships across business units, functional teams, and leadership.
- Structure, lead, and facilitate project and program meetings to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely decision-making.
- Provide regular status updates and reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
Resource & Team Coordination
- Support hiring, candidate evaluation, approvals, and onboarding for team members, contractors, and project resources.
- Coordinate scrum team formation and ensure teams are appropriately staffed and operationally ready.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including vendors and consultants, to support delivery objectives.
Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development and execution of the organization s AI and analytics strategy.
- Contribute to long-term planning efforts that advance enterprise AI capabilities.
- Develop a deep understanding of business process objectives, metrics, process owners, sponsors, and subject matter experts for each AI or analytics initiative.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in portfolio, program, or project management roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s degree in Business Administration or Doctorate.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience managing cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in Agile delivery environments (Scrum Master or similar role).
- Strong strategic thinking, financial analysis, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Working knowledge of data science, analytics, or statistical analysis.
- Experience in regulated or utility-focused environments (preferred).
