Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience Strategy and Delivery
  • Develop and lead the experience delivery for the Acquisition Platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives, product strategy, and enterprise standards.
  • Establish architectural patterns for modern UI development, including experience composition, state management, and interaction with backend PBCs.
  • Define how experiences integrate with persistence layers to ensure consistency, resilience, and performance across channels.
  • Ensure UI solutions are modular, reusable, and scalable to support long term platform evolution.
  • UI Platform and Design Enablement
  • Lead the selection and application of UI frameworks, experience platforms, and supporting tooling.
  • Establish standards and best practices for experience development, including component reuse, design system adoption, and accessibility.
  • Partner with UX and design teams to ensure design intent is faithfully translated into high quality, maintainable UI implementations.
  • Promote headless and composable experience patterns where appropriate to enable flexibility and omnichannel delivery.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Team, Product Architect, Platform Integration Lead, and Platform Engineering Lead to align experience and platform strategies.
  • Translate experience requirements into technical approaches that balance user needs, platform constraints, and delivery velocity.
  • Engage with cross functional teams to ensure experience solutions align with overall platform goals and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Implementation and Development Support
  • Guide and support delivery teams during the development and deployment of UI and experience solutions.
  • Provide hands on technical leadership and mentorship to front end and full stack engineers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and innovation in experience delivery.
  • External Orientation
  • Stay current with industry trends in UI architecture, experience platforms, and frontend engineering practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns to continuously improve experience quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Where appropriate, validate new approaches through Proof of Concept or Proof of Value engagements.
  • Compliance, Quality, and Security
  • Ensure experience solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with security and risk teams to ensure UI and experience layers appropriately protect sensitive data and workflows.
  • Influence the maturity of experience related standards and policies where unique needs of the Acquisition Platform exist.
  • Leadership and Talent Development
  • Work with IT and platform leadership to embrace contemporary ways of working and product centric delivery models.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence within experience and development teams.
  • Identify experience and UI skill gaps and help drive training, coaching, and capability development across the organization.
  • Technical Skills and Competencies
  • Modern UI & Experience Architecture principles composable UI, micro frontends, API driven and headless experiences, separation of concerns, domain aligned experience boundaries, high cohesion and low coupling between experience and backend capabilities
  • Design systems and component architecture reusable component libraries, design tokens, accessibility (WCAG), responsive and adaptive design patterns
  • State management and persistence strategies client side and server-side state, session management, caching, optimistic updates, resilience across long running user journeys
  • Experience platform integration deep understanding of how UI layers integrate with backend PBCs, APIs, and event driven systems
  • Frontend performance optimization lazy loading, code splitting, bundle optimization, caching strategies, and rendering performance (SSR/CSR tradeoffs)
  • UI security and data protection secure handling of sensitive data, token management, secure API consumption patterns, protection against common frontend threats
  • Observability for UI and experience layers client-side telemetry, real user monitoring (RUM), distributed tracing across UI and backend interactions
  • Modern frontend frameworks and tooling strong hands-on knowledge of contemporary JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and build pipelines
  • AI assisted development techniques prompt engineering, design to code acceleration, and iterative co development with large language models
  • Responsible AI use consideration of security, data exposure, accessibility, and operational risk when applying AI assisted tooling to UI and experience development
  • Growth oriented mindset ability to think beyond current experience constraints and define what is required to support future channels, users, and products
  • Excellent communication skills ability to translate between UX/design intent, technical implementation, and product/business needs

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Strong background in modern UI frameworks, experience platforms, and API driven UI design
  • Experience integrating UI layers with backend services, APIs, and event driven architectures
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or retirement services environments
  • Cloud based experience delivery, including:
  • CDN and edge delivery strategies
  • Cloud hosted UI platforms and headless CMS solutions
  • Integration with cloud native API and identity platforms
  • Experience working closely with UX, design, and accessibility teams in regulated environments
  • 5+ years of experience in UI, frontend, or experience focused software development
  • Proven experience guiding and mentoring junior frontend or full stack developers
  • Strong background in modern UI frameworks, experience platforms, and API driven UI design
  • Experience integrating UI layers with backend services, APIs, and event driven architectures
  • Experience applying Agile methodologies in product centric delivery environments
  • Enterprise scale delivery experience, including collaboration with both onshore and offshore cross functional teams
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or retirement services environments
  • Cloud based experience delivery, including:
  • CDN and edge delivery strategies
  • Cloud hosted UI platforms and headless CMS solutions
  • Integration with cloud native API and identity platforms
  • Experience working closely with UX, design, and accessibility teams in regulated environments
