Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with over 10 years of experience to design, secure, and optimize enterprise and site networking services for a Chemicals Manufacturing company. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for ensuring network availability and performance across various services, including Wi-Fi, edge security, and network operations. This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with cybersecurity and operations teams to deliver resilient connectivity and secure remote access solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design, operate, and maintain campus, branch, and data center networking systems, including switching, routing, wireless, and Internet edge components.
Implement strategies to ensure high network availability and optimal performance through redundancy, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for major incidents, performing root cause analysis and managing problem resolution.
Administer and oversee network services, including firewall management, certificate dependencies, and collaboration with service owners.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and operations teams to enforce network segmentation and secure remote access solutions.
Monitor network performance and address issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Document network configurations, processes, and changes for future reference and knowledge transfer.
Plan and execute network upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and enhanced functionality.
Develop and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members, fostering skill development.
Requirements
At least 10 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in enterprise-level systems.
Proficiency in working with Cisco routers, switches, and networking technologies.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA.
In-depth knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and other routing protocols.
Expertise in TCP/IP, VLAN configuration, and network segmentation.
Cisco Certified Network certification (CCNP) or equivalent.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues and manage large-scale systems.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
