The Transformation Strategy Lead will spearhead the identification and shaping of strategic change initiatives critical to the company s Wholesale and Corporate Functions. This role is focused on delivering a lean, impactful strategy function that drives business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation, while partnering closely with senior leadership across regions.
The Global Head of Risk Change will lead the execution and delivery of mission-critical risk transformation initiatives across the company's Chief Risk Officer function. This role is focused on managing the risk change portfolio of investment projects, ensuring effective delivery of risk-sponsored initiatives, and driving innovation in risk management practices while partnering closely with senior risk leadership across region.
The role directly leads a global team of senior program and project managers.
Role Description:
- This highly visible, Executive Director-level role will establish and lead the global Risk Change function within International Change. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Risk Management, Corporate Functions, and Technology teams to align risk change initiatives with group-wide priorities and drive enhanced risk management capabilities across the organization.
- You will be responsible for managing the portfolio of risk change investments, overseeing critical risk transformation programs, and developing compelling business cases to secure executive sponsorship. Leading a high-performing global team, you will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, risk excellence, and disciplined execution.
Key objectives critical to success:
- Lead the execution of mission-critical Risk transformation programs
- Manage and optimize the global risk change portfolio of investments and initiatives, supporting the relevant International Investment Governance forums and standards
- Chairs the risk change investment committee and ensures robust governance of all risk transformation investment
- Drive organizational design decisions with a commercial mindset, aligning roles to business priorities while developing local capabilities and ensuring seamless integration across regional teams.
- Provide strategic oversight for business-embedded Client to drive aligned outcomes while respecting organizational boundaries
- Partner with other cross-functional initiatives and teams which require support from Risk
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Risk Management leadership globally
- Drive material improvements in risk management capabilities and efficiency
- Lead and develop the global Risk Change team, fostering a strong performance, inclusive and diverse culture
- Drive efficiency and productivity improvements across Risk Change and the wider Risk organization
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all risk-sponsored change programs
- Drive the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics, to enhance risk management capabilities
- Ensure alignment of risk initiatives with regulatory requirements and firm-wide risk appetite
- Champion data-driven approaches to risk transformation and performance measurement
- Define and track KPIs / OKRs such as project delivery timelines, cost savings, risk reduction outcomes, and stakeholder satisfaction to measure the impact of risk change initiatives
- Adhere to pragmatic required delivery control standards
- This role requires periodic international travel to key regional offices and stakeholder locations
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Risk Management: Extensive experience in Financial Risk Management such as Market Risk, Credit Risk, Stress Testing and Model Governance within financial services
- Change Leadership: Proven track record of leading large-scale risk transformation programs
- Portfolio Management: Accountable for the global risk change budget, resource allocation, and investment prioritization to ensure optimal delivery of transformation initiative
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate at senior levels and across geographies, with extensive collaboration with Risk, Technology, and Business leadership
- Innovation & Technology: Understanding of risk systems, data architecture and driving deeper use of AI, digital transformation and advanced analytics
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of global Risk and Finance regulatory requirements such as Basel III and FRTB
- Financial Expertise: Strong background in risk-related financial modeling and analysis
- Industry Experience: Extensive experience in financial services, with significant risk management experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification in business, finance, or risk management
- Professional risk management certification
- Project management certification (PMP, Agile Scrum Master, PRINCE 2)
