Telecommunications Technician

Location: Gallatin, TN (Greater Nashville Area)

About the Role

TEKsystems is seeking a motivated Telecommunications Technician to join our team supporting large-scale telecom operations in the Greater Nashville area. This is a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension, offering full benefits and long-term career opportunities. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting high-volume weekly workloads.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems and equipment
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot network and connectivity issues
• Configure and program telecommunications devices, routers, switches, and supporting hardware
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure seamless network operations
• Provide technical support to end-users, identifying and resolving system problems
• Maintain accurate documentation for inventory, service logs, and completed work
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
• Stay informed on new technologies, tools, and industry best practices

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in telecommunications, low-voltage, or related technical field
• Knowledge of routers, switches, cabling, and telecom systems
• Familiarity with VoIP, PBX systems, and basic network protocols
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Reliable communication skills and customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Adaptability to evolving technologies and job requirements

Preferred Skills

• CAT5/CAT6 installation & termination
• Low-voltage cabling experience
• CCTV, access control, or security system installation
• Basic construction, cabling pathways, and rack/stack experience

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Hendersonville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
