Description: Azure Integration Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Azure Integration Engineer to design, develop, and manage secure, scalable, and compliant cloud-based data ingestion and storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure services, API-first architectures, event-driven systems, infrastructure automation, and cloud security best practices.
This role will be responsible for building enterprise-grade integration platforms, implementing immutable storage patterns, managing cloud-native databases, and ensuring security, compliance, and operational excellence across the Azure ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
API & Integration Architecture
- Design and implement secure API ingestion pipelines using Azure API Management (APIM).
- Configure OAuth2/JWT authentication and authorization, rate limiting, schema validation, and API governance policies.
- Develop and maintain APIM policies, backend integrations, versioning strategies, named values, and developer portal configurations.
Event-Driven Processing
- Build scalable event-driven workflows using Azure Service Bus and Azure Functions.
- Implement durable orchestration, fan-out/fan-in processing patterns, and asynchronous integration frameworks.
- Develop reliable ingestion pipelines for data and evidence artifact collection from external systems.
Secure Storage & Data Integrity
- Implement immutable storage solutions using Azure Blob Storage with WORM (Write Once Read Many) retention policies.
- Design and manage metadata indexing solutions using Azure Cosmos DB.
- Establish tamper-evident auditing and change tracking mechanisms leveraging Cosmos DB capabilities.
Caching & Performance Optimization
- Architect and implement Azure Redis Cache solutions for high-throughput workloads.
- Optimize application performance while maintaining source-of-truth integrity and immutability requirements.
Security & Encryption
- Integrate Azure Key Vault for secure key management and envelope encryption.
- Implement customer-managed key (CMK) strategies, automated key rotation, purge protection, and secure secrets management.
- Apply zero-trust architecture principles across Azure environments.
Monitoring & Compliance
- Design telemetry and observability solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics Workspace.
- Develop logging, auditing, integrity verification, and compliance monitoring capabilities.
- Create operational dashboards, alert rules, and KQL-based reporting.
Infrastructure Automation
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Implement reusable Terraform modules, remote state management, policy-as-code controls, and CI/CD automation.
- Support deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
Third-Party Integrations
- Build integrations with external platforms and APIs, including security, compliance, governance, ticketing, and operational tools.
- Design resilient connector frameworks for ingesting and processing evidence artifacts from source systems.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting production workloads on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with API-first and event-driven architectures.
- Deep expertise with Azure API Management (APIM), including policies, security, versioning, backends, and developer portal management.
- Experience implementing immutable and append-only storage patterns using Azure services.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB and NoSQL database design, deployment, and administration.
- Proven experience with Terraform, including module development, remote state management, Azure Provider configurations, and CI/CD integration.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Node.js.
- Experience implementing encryption and key management solutions using Azure Key Vault.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking and zero-trust security models, including:
- Private Endpoints
- VNet Integration
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- User Defined Routes (UDRs)
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing Kusto Query Language (KQL) queries for monitoring, alerting, and audit analysis.
- Experience integrating third-party enterprise APIs and SaaS platforms.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing and integration testing tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure Security Engineer Associate Certification.
- AWS Certified Security - Specialty.
- CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent security certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in highly regulated, security-focused, or compliance-driven environments.
