Summary
Job Summary:
Tryfacta is seeking a SOC Analyst (Night Shift) for our client in Brooklyn, NY. This is a temporary contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now!
Key Responsibilities
Staff the SOC as part of a 24x7x365 threat management operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Interface with internal OTI Cyber Command teams, City agencies, vendors, and information‐sharing partners.
Monitor networks and security alerts for intrusions, compromises, and anomalies; apply mitigation measures or escalate as required.
Correlate threat intelligence across logs and established security controls.
Produce routine SOC metrics and reporting.
Maintain Situation Reports (SITREPs).
Perform weekly quality control checks.
Collaborate with the SOC Director to update and develop SOC playbooks and runbooks.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Candidates must meet all requirements below to be considered:
Minimum 8 years of experience in Threat Management, SOC operations, and/or Incident Response.
Demonstrated leadership ability including mentoring junior analysts and coordinating team activities.
Prior hands-on experience working in a SOC environment.
Deep understanding of SOC procedures and tools including:
SIEM platforms
IDS/IPS
EDR solutions
Desirable Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and procedures.
Solid understanding of network and host technologies.
Experience detecting host/network intrusions using IDS methodologies.
Proficiency with SIEM platforms, malware analysis, and mitigation.
Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles (CIA triad, authentication, non-repudiation).
Ability to interpret diagnostic network tool data (Netflow, logs, IDS systems).
Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting incidents and engaging stakeholders.
Threat hunting experience to proactively identify anomalies before they escalate.
Experience leading or contributing to incident response activities—analysis, containment, mitigation, and recovery.
